Mrs Minshall

Vice-Chair-Local Authority Governor

I have been involved in education for more than 30 years as a teacher in a variety of schools and local authorities. I retired four years ago as Head teacher of a very successful school in Runcorn, to spend quality time with my grandchildren. During my career I taught every age group within the primary school sector and completed Ofsted training. My daughter is now Head teacher of a primary school in Nantwich so I am constantly kept up to date with educational issues. Two of my grandchildren attend Weston School and I have two more due to start here in the future. Consequently I have a vested interest in the future of their education and happiness at Weston.

Mrs Mitchell

Head Teacher

Barbara Mitchell has been Headteacher at Weston since January 2010 and has been a teacher since 1977 so has taught and implemented most new educational initiatives. Mrs Mitchell still teaches our pupils and has many other responsibilities outside of being Headteacher. She brought the International dimension to our school and has been instrumental in working with the British Council to secure grant funding that has given  our teachers (and teachers in other Cheshire East schools)  the opportunity to observe, and teach in, schools in Europe, South Africa and China providing them with remarkable professional and personal development.

Mrs Mitchell has a grown up son and a grandson. She lives in Staffordshire with her husband and two Miniature Schnauzers.

What spare time she has is taken up looking after her family, reading for pleasure and walking the dogs with a little bit of travelling thrown into to mix.
