We celebrated Black History Month in assembly this week by learning about the important contributions that black people have made to culture and society.
We learned about Rosa Parks, Alice Coachman, Professor Dame Elizabeth Anionwu, Nelson Mandela, Wangari Maathai, Benjamin Zephania, Bishop Wilfred Wood and Maggie Aderin-Pocock.
The children reflected on their lives and achievements and discussed how and why any of them were inspirational.
